My mother, with unwavering faith and devotion, started a Rosary group to keep families united in prayer. Even as she battled cancer and endured the excruciating pain of open sores, she never wanted to miss a single opportunity to connect with the group and pray the Rosary. Her deepest hope and desire were that this group would never cease gathering in prayer.
To be honest, at that time, I wasn’t the most committed member. I
joined the prayers occasionally, without fully appreciating the strength
and grace that flowed from them. But after her passing, something
within me changed. It feels as if she continues to pray for us, watching
over us, urging us to carry on the mission she began.
Now, I share her same desire—to never miss a day of praying with
this group. Like her, I hope that the group will not only continue but
grow, drawing more people into the embrace of our shared prayer.
Recently, I was blessed to meet Fr. Shaji M. L. C.S.C., the National
Director of Holy Cross Family Ministries – Canada, whose inspiring
words encouraged our group to meet in person for prayer. Following his
suggestion, we gathered last month on Monday, September 23rd, at the
home of one of our members, Thecla It was a truly wonderful experience to pray together face-to-face and
receive a special blessing from Fr. Shaji, who so kindly joined us in
prayer. His presence reminded me of how my mum would host the group
once a month in different homes, bringing everyone together to pray the
Rosary.I can’t help but feel that my mum is still praying with us, guiding
us from above as we continue this beautiful tradition.
The Rosary is not just a prayer but a powerful source of peace and strength. Through it, we connect not only with each other but with Our
Lady, who is our surest and most loving way to Jesus. I am deeply
grateful for this community of prayer and for the grace, it continues to
bring into our personal lives and families.
