On 25th February, a significant and inspiring meeting occurred between the Holy Cross Family Ministries (HCFM) Canada leadership team and the Holy Cross Sisters in Montreal. This gathering, filled with hope and enthusiasm, revolved around the possibility of future collaboration to strengthen the mission and vision of HCFM in Canada.
The presence and encouragement of Superior General Sr. Raymonde Maisonneuve CSC, Sr. Sonia Porres, CSC, who worked for 13 years as Director of HCFM Chile, and other sisters were particularly uplifting. They expressed deep appreciation for HCFM’s work and conveyed strong optimism about the potential for meaningful collaboration. Their words and vision were a source of great motivation, reinforcing the importance of working together in a spirit of unity and shared mission. This meeting carried profound significance as it resonated with the vision of our esteemed Founder, Blessed Basil Moreau. He ardently desired that the entire Holy Cross family—Fathers, Brothers, and Sisters—work in harmony, fostering the family dimension of our congregation’s mission. The discussions underscored the importance of this unity and the potential it holds for expanding the reach and impact of HCFM’s great works.
The atmosphere of the meeting was one of encouragement and inspiration. The dialogue highlighted the mutual commitment to strengthening family prayer, faith formation, and spiritual growth through HCFM’s initiatives. It was an occasion filled with gratitude, as all present recognized the divine providence in bringing this collaborative vision closer to reality.
Looking ahead, we pray, wish, and hope that this vision of a united Holy Cross Family—Fathers, Brothers, and Sisters—actively engaged in the mission of HCFM in Canada will soon be realized. By revamping and strengthening the HCFM Team in Canada, we can forge stronger bonds among the three branches of the Holy Cross, embodying the family chemistry envisioned by Blessed Basil Moreau. As we move forward, we remain committed to nurturing this partnership and working diligently towards making this collaboration a reality. With faith, prayer, and dedicated effort, we trust that this mission will bear abundant fruit in the service of families and communities across Canada.
