Faith Formation and Outreach Initiatives of HCFM Canada

In a spirit of joyful service and evangelization, Holy Cross Family Ministries (HCFM) Canada undertook several impactful initiatives during the months of April and early May 2025, with a special focus on nurturing the faith of children and youth.

At St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Rosaries and How to Pray the Rosary leaflets were distributed to the children receiving their First Holy Communion. Additionally, Faith Cards were gifted to the students of the parish studying Catechism as a means to encourage and inspire them in their spiritual journey. These simple yet meaningful tools were gratefully received and marked a memorable first step in these young hearts toward a deeper relationship with Jesus through prayer.

Furthermore, from April 28th to 30th, 2025, HCFM Canada had the privilege of conducting faith-enriching sessions for students to receive Confirmation from three different schools under St. Kevin’s Parish, Welland, reaching over 140 students. The schools were Alexander Kuska on Tuesday, the 28th April, Holy Name on 29th and St Kevin School on 3oth April 2025. Over 120 students were prepared for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

The sessions were made possible through the gracious invitation and warm support of Fr. Jinto C.S.C., Pastor, and Fr. Sunil C.S.C., Associate Pastor, whose pastoral care and foresight ensured a fruitful collaboration. Throughout the three days, Rosaries and instructional leaflets on praying the Rosary were distributed. The students listened with great interest and attentiveness to reflections on the miraculous healing of Venerable Patrick Peyton, inspiring personal testimonies, Scripture-based insights, and the central importance of family prayer, especially the Rosary, and above all the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. The sessions emphasized the need for an appropriate spiritual disposition in preparing for and receiving the sacrament of Confirmation.

Teachers and accompanying adults expressed deep appreciation for being able to participate alongside the students. Many remarked on the evident enthusiasm and receptivity of the young participants, who left with renewed understanding and a deeper appreciation of their Catholic faith. These outreach efforts reflect the mission of HCFM to build strong, prayerful families rooted in the love for Christ, the Blessed Mother, and the sacraments.
