‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. – Matthew 18:3. The Lord wants us to be children – to have fun and play, explore His church. The after school program Joyful Explorers was created to explore the Bible and God’s love reminding the children they don’t have to be anything but themselves. God loves them just as they are. He doesn’t expect them to act like adults yet or to be worried about their futures. The goal is to be joyful and praise the Lord for his abundance of grace in the Catholic Church. Jesus said, “Let the little
children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
We invite all moms and dads to stay with their children and join us in our Bible study. We have games, crafts and an after school snack. We also pray with Jesus in adoration. We call it 7 minutes in heaven. The Word of God needs to be proclaimed to the children so it can impact their lives and plant seeds for the future.“So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11.
The ages are 2-12. All families are welcome! Bring your joyful hearts and discover the Lord deeper and his love for us. Some of the patron saints of our club Joyful Explorers are St. Philip Neri, St.Don Bosco, St Francis of Assisi, St Hildegard, St Therese of Lisieux, and St Francis de Sales.
