On August 2nd and 3rd, 2025, Holy Cross Family Ministries (HCFM) had the privilege of visiting St. John Vianney Parish in Barrie. Earlier this year, in the third week of May, St. Thomas More Parish in Niagara warmly welcomed the ministry to their faith community. These encounters were moments of grace, where the timeless mission of Venerable Patrick Peyton—the “Rosary Priest”—was brought to life for parishioners of all ages.
During each visit, we shared the inspiring legacy of Venerable Patrick Peyton, whose life’s work championed the powerful truth: “The family that prays together stays together.” His deep devotion to the Holy Rosary and his tireless promotion of family prayer continue to shape HCFM’s mission today.
Parishioners were encouraged to rediscover the Rosary as a simple yet profound way to strengthen family bonds and grow closer to Christ through the loving intercession of Mary. The devotion to the Holy Family was also highlighted as a model for Christian families striving to live with faith, unity, and love in the midst of daily challenges.
In both parishes, HCFM presented a range of resources and services designed to help families deepen their prayer life, from printed guides and prayer cards to online materials and retreat opportunities. The congregation learned more about the work of the Congregation of Holy Cross, whose members continue to serve the Church worldwide through education, parish ministry, and evangelization.
The response was overwhelmingly positive. Parishioners expressed joy at learning more about the ministry’s mission and left inspired to make family prayer, especially the Rosary, a central part of their daily lives. The seeds planted during these visits will, God willing, bear abundant fruit in the spiritual lives of many families.
